Beyond clean energy and environmental stewardship, our program invests in people—equipping youth and community members with the tools they need to grow, create, and thrive.
Recently, students transformed raw materials into beautifully crafted furniture pieces. These creations are more than just furniture—they are a reflection of patience, precision, and pride.
Learning by Doing
This project challenges students to measure carefully, cut with accuracy, and assemble with care. These technical skills sharpen focus and develop discipline, while also encouraging teamwork and creative problem solving. Every finished piece represents hours of practice, trial and error, and the satisfaction of completing something lasting with their own hands.
Beyond the Workshop
This training is about more than learning how to build a chair or a table. It’s about building confidence, employable skills, and a pathway to future opportunities in trades, design, and entrepreneurship. By working with their hands, students discover new strengths, expand their horizons, and take part in a tradition of craftsmanship that grounds them in pride and purpose.
A Community of Support
The Englewood Shared Renewables Program is not only reimagining energy solutions for our community, but also helping to create a pipeline of talent. These woodworking projects remind us that sustainability is holistic, it’s about empowering people as much as powering homes.
