The transition to clean energy is no longer a distant goal—it is happening right here in our neighborhood. This week, our Solar Training Cohort hit a major milestone, proving that Englewood is ready to lead the green economy.

Building More Than Just Skills
Our participants are moving beyond foundational prep and into the high-stakes world of Technical Safety Certifications. This isn't just about learning a trade; it’s about equipping our community members with the rigorous credentials required to dominate the renewable energy market.
Weekly Wins & Workforce Readiness
Certified Success: The class dominated the "Build Your Future" module. With a near-perfect pass rate, our trainees are officially on the fast track to professional placement.
Safety First, Excellence Always: The cohort has mastered the first six sections of Basic Safety Protocols. They aren’t just learning how to install solar; they are learning how to lead safe, professional, and efficient job sites.
Community Collaboration: Through intensive group projects and guest sessions with industry experts like Evolve, our students are building the "soft skills" of teamwork and presentation that local employers crave.
Spotlight on Excellence
We are seeing incredible dedication from our residents. A special congratulations to Israel Pettis, who achieved a perfect score on the cumulative safety review this week! When we say our talent is top-tier, we mean it.
Looking Ahead: The Summer Workforce
As this cohort nears completion, we are preparing to launch our Summer Cohort.
Applications open May 1st. We invite the Englewood community to help us spread the word. This is more than a training program—it’s an economic engine for our streets. Let’s keep the momentum going and ensure the future of clean energy is powered by the people of Englewood.
We are excited to partner with ComEd in growing and support Green Energy programming and efforts.
